The Memphis Symphony Orchestra presents Opus One Connections | Arts & Culture
Title (Max 100 Charaters)
The Memphis Symphony Orchestra presents Opus One Connections, the first in a series of free community programs open to the public, on January 29, 2012 featuring Latin-Jazz singer Marcela Pinilla.
The event will be held at 3 p.m. in the courtyard beside the carousel of the Hickory Ridge Mall, located at 6075 Winchester.
An offshoot of the popular Opus One series, Opus One Connections helps to make the music art form more accessible to the community through nontraditional music. Opus One Connections combines musical experiences with related engaging activities in a family-friendly setting.
This first of three events this season features the artistry of Pinilla, a performer, singer and songwriter originally from Bogotá, Colombia. The other two events, which include an introduction to chamber music and the Big Band performing traditional and Latin repertoire, take place February 19 and February 26, at the same location. The MSO and Hickory Ridge Mall are partners for all three.
