(WMC-TV) – Soulsville USA has received a grant to revitalize the neighborhood.
A portion of the more than $678,000 grant will transform the former home of bluesman Memphis Slim into a new arts center.
The money is coming from Chicago-based Art-Place.
The new center will feature artist collaborations, music and studio training, and videos of neighborhood residents’ oral histories.
