Less fortunate families in the Mid-South are get help in feeding their loved ones for the holidays.
The Memphis Labor Council will give out 150 Christmas food baskets Wednesday.
The meals will be prepared by labor volunteers for selected families in need.
For the past 41 years, the Memphis AFL-CIO Labor Council, consisting of local labor unions, donate holiday food baskets to people in need.
Holiday baskets will contain: turkey, canned and baked goods, along with eggs and bread.
“With continual threats to the wages and benefits of working people, everyone should do their part in helping our community. This is one way labor giving back”’ said Memphis AFL-CIO president Irvin Calliste.
