(WMC-TV) – A pair of heavy hitters in the Memphis business community are teaming up to help senior citizens get free legal advice this week.
AutoZone and law firm Bass, Berry and Sims will work with Memphis Area Legal Services to offer seniors advice on preparing of advance care plans, health care directives, durable power of attorney forms, wills and other legal matters.
“We know from experience that seniors are generally underserved in the area of legal representation at a time in their lives when it’s most essential that they have their legal affairs in order,” said Kristen Wright, vice president, assistant general counsel at AutoZone and co-founder of the pro bono clinic at Orange Mound Senior Center.
The legal clinic will be held at the Orange Mound Senior Center, 2590 Park Ave., on July 10 from 10 a.m. to noon.
“Our pro bono clinic offers an opportunity to help a large number of seniors obtain convenient access to legal services and get the care they need in order to protect themselves and their families,” said Sehrish Siddiqui, an attorney at Bass, Berry and Sims and the clinic’s volunteer coordinator.
