Memphis Health Center receives $3 million in federal funds

(WMC-TV) – The Memphis Health Center will receive $3.1 million in federal funds from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Resources.

The Memphis Health Center cares for citizens from Shelby and Fayette County and offers homeless health services, prenatal care and dentistry.

The federal funds were awarded under the Health Cluster continuation grant which is money used to provide financial assistance to health centers to help support the condition of  primary health care to an underserved area.

“These new federal funds will help keep the Memphis Health Center going strong so more people throughout the city can receive the health care they need,” said Rep. Steve Cohen said.

The Memphis Health Center is open Monday through Saturday and offer medical services for the insured and uninsured.
