Independence Day changes trash collection schedule

(WMC-TV) – The Fourth of July holiday will rearrange some Memphians’ trash schedules this week.

If the city typically picks your trash up on Wednesday, workers will collect your garbage on Thursday. No other days of the week will be affected. However, yard debris will likely not be collected on Thursday.

Contractors Republic Services and Waste Connections will also have Wednesday off. They’ll pick up trash Thursday at residences normally serviced on Wednesday.

However, neither company will pick up yard waste on Saturday, July 7.
