The supervisors lost touch with the inmates, who went to the funeral and returned to work detail without incident.
Commissioners will question the director of the jail, to find out what will happen to prevent this in the future.

The Shelby County Commission wants to know how some inmates were able to attend a funeral.

Last month, six inmates left their work detail to attend a funeral for Cecil Tuggle, the man who was shot to death earlier in December on Summer Avenue.

The supervisors lost touch with the inmates, who went to the funeral and returned to work detail without incident.
